More Information

Stephen Howell's laboratory is conducting research on the responses of plants to the environment with special concerns about how plants respond and adapt to climate change.  The lab focuses on a form of environmental stress, called endoplasmic reticulum stress, by which plants can perceive and respond to adverse environmental conditions.  The lab is also interested in how RNA splicing enhances plant phenotypic plasticity in responding to environmental variables.  Some of the lab's research is conducted using the Enviratron, a controlled environment facility that can simulate different environment conditions.
